Information about the .bmc (bmc) file type

This is one of two possibilities that we have on file for the .bmc file extension, follow this link to view both possibilities.

Below is all the information we have available on file about the .bmc (bmc) file type.

Bitmap Cache file, used by Windows Terminal Server Client.
Windows Terminal Server Client uses a file called "cache22.bmc" This file is the terminal server client bitmap cache file. It is normally located under Application Data\Microsoft\Terminal Server Client\Cache.

This file contains a cache of frequently used images. This avoids the need for the Remote Desktop Client (RDP client) to pull down the image each time it is required. This can improve performance, especially over slow connections.

If deleted Terminal Services (RDP client) will recreate it on demand. The RDP client can be configured to disable "Bitmap caching", in which case the file will not be generated.

Where this is available we would like to include file format information on .bmc files, as well as information on how to view or open files of type .bmc. If you know of any information which we have missed then please let us know.
